My husband and I have lived in Calgary since 2010. We have lived in Brentwood, Beddington, and Coventry Hills so being able to represent the people of Wards 3 & 4 would be an honour. We have two daughters who attend Coventry Hills Elementary School. We live, play and go to school within our community. My goal as your Trustee will be to make sure all children regardless of race, ability, religion, gender, or financial ability can be able to experience the best education Calgary has to offer.
My experience working on boards and councils include most recently sitting on School Council at Coventry Elementary as Key Communicator. This includes meetings within school and at the board office. I am responsible to make sure the school community is aware of board plans and how they fit into what we are doing at the school. We recently received the School Council Merit Award for 2020.
I also sat as Director on our Northern Hills Community Association leading and working on Canada’s Largest Mural along Coventry Hills Blvd. My passions have always been working to make lives of our children and our community better. By being your Trustee I will make sure your voices are brought forward and heard through community engagement and open communication.
I received my Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta in 2011 and hold my permanent certification. I have worked with students and their parents from K-12. I love watching students grow and learn, and I know what students need to thrive in a classroom environment. I will lead and govern as your Trustee with my knowledge and experience as an educator to give our students the best chance of success in a rapidly advancing society.
With respect I would like to acknowledge where I work, play, and live as the Treaty 7 traditional lands of the Blackfoot Nations, which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai. I also acknowledge the Tsuut’ina and Stoney Nakoda First Nations (Bearspaw, Wesley and Chiniki), the Métis Nation (Region 3), and all who make their homes in this area of Turtle Island.
